Subfolder for master data
Virtual Subfolders
Structuring data is an essential requirement to keep complex databases manageable and clear. Therefore, we have integrated a way to store data fields in subfolders.
In general, tabs can be expanded for organization, and within the tabs, there are subfolders. These are sortable and can contain infinitely many fields. For the GTIN/EAN type, a barcode can also be automatically generated and displayed.
The subfolders ensure order.
Fields can also be moved between these subfolders at any time later. This has no negative impact on output containers or other export options.
It is evident that a significant advantage of our systems is the customer-specific preparation of master data. Many customers report to us that they can now really have all data, including the marketing texts, clearly in one place for the first time and can immediately begin their work. Everything can be found neatly arranged in one place.

The Principle
Texts, especially marketing texts, are one of the main drivers for visibility on the web. How would it be if the PIM data were automatically transformed into very good descriptive product texts?
Structured Data as a Basis
Structured data, such as the labeling of scent notes or characteristic features as adjectives, serve as the foundation for the text engine of retresco.
This application can optionally be integrated into our PIM system and receives the aforementioned data provided via an interface.
The Approach in the Text Engine
The text engine is a separate application where so-called cartridges must be integrated based on templates and other logics. We, as an agency, are happy to take on these tasks as they require a lot of experience and must be individually coordinated with the client in any case.
The text engine then plays back the generated texts individually into the respective product information and stores them centrally in our PIM system.

Objective of the Deepl Integration
The integration of the Deepl.com API enables immediate spoken translation of the core language, which is always German in our case, based on the technology and quality of the API. The fields should be implemented as child fields of the core field. That means there are as many child fields as there are languages to be implemented.
Functions
The functionality can take the following parameters into account:
Definition of which fields should be translated
Automatic translation of the base language core fields as new content is added or existing content is updated
Content will be written in editable form in the respective language field
As soon as a change is made in the language manually, the translation can be suspended for each product at the field. This suspension can be deactivated with the checkbox so that a new translation would take place in case of changes.
The API connection is defined in the backend. There is a free API with up to 500,000 characters that can be used for implementation. In live cases, we would switch to the pro version.
Opportunities and Use of AI with Deepl or ChatGPT
The implementation of this function would be a master function that offers many opportunities from a marketing perspective. Translating product content is very costly, and users can decide whether the quality is sufficient or if they want to have it revised by native speakers for, e.g., hero products. They would also have a linguistic template.
The use of Deepl is one way. In principle, ChatGPT can also be connected via an API. Here, it must be checked on a case-by-case basis which AI works better. Deepl is also AI-based, so it is not about whether it is AI or not AI, but about the respective language engine and its capabilities.

Product Data
Whether it’s products in the area of FMCG, mechanical engineering, DIY products, food, or any other industry, all products must be comprehensively described for trade.
Product information usually comes from many departments within a company. Logistics contributes many basic data, and legal requirements must be observed, for example in the pharmaceutical sector or in the food segment (LMiV).
Specialist Departments
Many specialists generate data that must then be channeled into various outlets. Typically, trade partners, agencies, and other service providers are involved.
Data Quality
The quality, availability, and timeliness of data is of paramount importance in our digital world. Only when data is correct (quality), timely (availability), and current (timeliness) at the POS can it be processed quickly and efficiently. It can do what it’s supposed to do – sell.
Product Information Management (PIM)
This is where the PIM system comes into play. Our PIM solution, combined with our DAM system, allows for a central storage of all data and visual media describing the product.
This data can be pulled from various sources via API and importer automatically or semi-automatically. This combines all data from different sources into a central system.
Lifecycle Management
In addition, product data is also managed according to time periods. That means they have a time-based validity up to an archive storage upon reaching a certain date.
Typical Product Information
Examples of typical product information (incomplete, just pointers) in PIM include:

Item numbers
Special codes for customers or internally
Deadlines
Date values such as SOS = Start of shipment, Launch date, End date
